“Just wanted to share Broccoli's glow up.”
May 4th was his "gotcha" day. Last year he showed up in the yard as a feral looking skinny, so I started feeding him. He developed some kind of skin issue so I trapped him and got him vet attention. Now he lives inside because he's expensive. I got my other cat Asparagus in the exact same way. He's gone from cranky and looking like a bedraggled possum to a fluffy, chunky snuggle muffin. He's FIV+ but that doesn't stop him from doing zoomies and crimes with his brother.
His middle name is Karen because when I first brought him inside, he was an ungrateful menace. All he did was hiss at me and make messes including flooding the bathroom he was quarantined in. I won him over by reading him poems from "old possum's book of practical cats." He seemed to enjoy that. Skrimbleshanks is his favorite.

You can tell by these pictures that Broccoli had a rough time. Life was not kind to him, and whether he was born outside or cast outside by a previous hooman, no cat should have to experience such trials and tribulations. Do you part to help feral colonies break the cycle of stray cat production by getting them fixed, or finding them homes for adoption. There are too many cats living in terrible conditions in the world, and it's up to us to fix it.

From furious glares to snoring as peacefully as a baby, we hope Broccoli has already forgotten his life on the streets. It can take cats some time to open up, but once they truly feel safe, you will expurrience a love unlike any you've ever felt before.

That's a glow up for real 🥹 I didn't consider long haired cats may look less so when not looked after.
Thank you for taking Broccoli (and Asparagus!) in and loving them so much.

"Cat tax with his brother Asparagus. I should also add that I never wanted cats but the distribution system found me."
